03/29/2012 The big finale!! What happened Saturday under the tents?

Saturday was bittersweet. With exhaustion showing in our eyes we geared up for the final night under the tents! First stop of the night was the press junket at the Embassy Suites. I sat in front of a room full of eager media folks who asked questions about how I picked models, the inspiration behind the collection, styling, and how I enjoyed the week in general. I have to admit, I kinda liked the attention. After the media rendezvous we set off for the tents. The energy was electric in Marion Square! Everyone was excited about seeing the designers final collections and picking the winner. The amazing Hannah Goff brought the heat with her mind blowing collection! She was my favorite designer of the week by far! I couldn't get over her galaxy inspired colors and prints! After the shows we headed to the after-party at the Aquarium. With a VIP band on our wrist we breezed strait to the bar.... and then we danced, and drank, and danced....and repeat. -xoxo

Friday night was one for the books! Savannah's own Ashley Newsome rocked the runway with her timeless designs that were constructed from eco-friendly materials. The crowd raved as each piece walked the runway! The emerging designer competition was capped off with an eclectic and colorful show by designer Chris Benz. After the runway shows we headed over to the Music Farm to shake some tail feathers with the rest of the fashion folks. It was a treat to run into Savannah local Erin Wessling who was in town to support Ashley Newsome. I also snapped a few pics at the twitpic photo booth with photographer Jason Benjamin. Fun, fun, fun. -xoxo
03/29/2012 A look into the CFW madness!

With the runway show taking the backseat in my brain, I was finally able to relax and enjoy a night under the tents. Thursday night was a low key night for the Mamie crew. Exhaustion was starting to set in and sleep was the only thing on my brain. It was great seeing some familiar Savannah faces under the tents though. The talented Ashley Newsome and the SATCHEL girls were working it in the Style Lounge. I also ran into the 'Style Girl' herself, Mrs. Jess James who was looking stunning as always. The only after-party I hit Thursday night was the pillow! -xoxo
03/29/2012 The post fashion show recap!
Wednesday started with a whirlwind of returning bags, scraping tape off of shoes, returning shoes, re-hanging clothes, and trying to find the bottom of our hotel room. It was a haute mess. (get it??) All with the hangover from Tuesday night's dance party pounding in our heads. After a few hours of post fashion show clean up we headed out for a champagne brunch to celebrate the success of the Tuesday night's show!! While in route to brunch we ran into Ms. Fashion Week herself, Ayoka Lucas, who was rocking a green dashiki Mamie frock with printed tights. Fab, as always! After brunch I met with the beautiful stylist Andrea Serrano, who was styling the musical production for the night. She pulled several menswear options for King Sing, a talented Charleston musician. Before we knew it, it was time to hit the tents for the second night of Fashion Week madness. Mamie was spotted all over the tents on Wednesday night! Ayoka transformed her daytime Mamie frock into a stunning runway worthy outfit. King Sing and his back up dancer were also rocking Mamie on stage! That's how Mamie rolls!! -xoxo
03/28/2012 Behind the Scenes of the big menswear debut!
Monday''s adrenaline carried us into the madness that Tuesday would bring. With no sleep and Red Bull pumping through our veins my team and I sat over our morning cup of joe to discuss the to-do's for the day. There were press releases to be printed, alterations to be done, final fittings, finding shoes, finalizing music, meeting with media, and finding time to make myself look presentable .......phew. After a long day of prepping for the big show I somehow threw myself together and made it to the CFW style blog. Success! The crowd loved the hunky Mr. Mamie models! Especially when the final model ripped off his shirt to reveal his Mr. logo tat on his back! I think I'll do menswear more often!! Yum. -xoxo
03/28/2012 A sneak peak into the Mr. by Mamie Ruth model fittings.
Model, model, models everywhere! 'Mr.' model fittings started bright and early Monday morning at the Embassy Suites directly across from the tents. The Mamie models trickled in twos to be transformed into super macho 'Mr.' hunks. After an afternoon of fittings, styling (and a little drooling) we had the collection almost ready to hit the runway! Big thanks to Red Bull, my super awesome publicist, Blake Olmstead (dollhouse pr) and her uber organized look board! Without that trio of awesomeness my head would have been a puddle of stress and we all know how unfashionable that would be.

03/28/2012 Surfing the Runway 2012
Big thanks to everyone who came out to support Surfer's Healing at the Surfing the Runway fashion fundraiser. We have had the honor of working with Surfer's Healing for the past 3 years and we are honored to continue to show our support. Surfing the Runway took place at TIDES on Folly Beach with a jammin' after party at BLU downstairs. Mew, Mamie Ruth, Suite 33, and Coral swimwear sent their S/S collections down the runway. The night was full of fashion, live music, good vibrations, and better libations. Third time is a charm!! -xoxo
